From June 20-23, 2017, Geographic Solutions will host the 14th Annual Workforce Technology Conference, which will showcase the latest software solutions that aid in the modernization of workforce development and reemployment programs nationwide. The conference gives workforce development staff, administrators, case managers, unemployment insurance professionals, and labor market information specialists the opportunity to learn about web-based systems that can improve agency performance and service delivery.
The 2017 agenda will feature informative presentations by industry leaders and Geographic Solutions staff, as well as discussion groups covering topics such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and partner programs, case management, federal reporting, labor market information, unemployment benefits, and system enhancements. The City of Monterey is located on the southern edge of Monterey Bay on Central California's Pacific Coast. The city had California's first theatre, public building, public library, publicly-funded school, printing press, and newspaper. The city and surrounding area have attracted artists since the late 19th century and many celebrated painters and writers have lived there. Until the 1950s, there was an abundant fishery. Among Monterey's notable present-day attractions are the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, and the annual Monterey Jazz Festival.
Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY) is located approximately 4 miles (10 minutes) from the conference. Mineta/San Jose International Airport (SJC) is located approximately 75 miles (80 minutes) from the conference. Ground transportation from each airport to the Monterey Marriott is available via a variety of onsite rental car companies, taxis, and shuttle services. At this time, the Marriott does not offer a complimentary shuttle service to/from MRY airport.
