Geographic Solutions was one of only 10 Tampa Bay area companies with over 100 employees to be selected as a finalist for the award. Employees of qualifying companies were surveyed by Quantum Market Research on such areas as employee engagement, retention, management style, and work/life balance to help determine the finalist list.

According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the journal did not subjectively choose companies to be honored. To solicit companies that might qualify as best places to work, the Tampa Bay Business Journal published notices and sent e-mails. Nominations were then grouped into categories based on number of employees. Companies were evaluated (by their employees) in a rigorous statistic-based process which measured 40 attributes known to drive employee engagement such as: effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, and trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices. Employee feedback was then scored and the top 10 companies in each category were named as winners.

The Tampa Bay Business Journal and award sponsors GTE Federal Credit Union, Quantum Market Research, Sandler Sales Institute and Audio Visual Support Services, Inc. will honor the winners at the 2009 Best Places to Work Awards luncheon on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.

Geographic Solutions, Inc. is a rapidly growing software development company based in Palm Harbor, Florida.
