VOS Sapphire AI+ introduces several new enhancements, including a redesigned interface and streamlined navigation for job seekers, employers, agency staff, and administrators.

Building upon the success of the VOS Sapphire AI platform, the new version features a refreshed dashboard that displays key activities and related links through dashboard widgets. The latest dashboard design now offers clearer insights and client-themed customization options.

Across the system, improved notification and navigation bars streamline access to essential features, enhancing usability and accessibility. VOS Sapphire AI+ also introduces breadcrumb navigation, which provides a clear and simple trail throughout the system, helping users stay organized and easily return to previous sections or pages.

"The development of VOS Sapphire AI+ was driven by feedback from our clients and users," said Paul Toomey, CEO of Geographic Solutions. "We carefully redesigned the platform to be more modern, intuitive, and accessible, aiming to improve the user experience. VOS Sapphire AI+ leverages the latest advancements in AI and user interface design to streamline service delivery and provide job seekers and employers with powerful tools to assist them in today's job market."

In addition to several design enhancements, staff can use AI Assist to improve service delivery and reporting by using natural language to pull reports and analyze key trends, ultimately saving time and simplifying the data retrieval process.

Job seekers can use AI Assist tools to support their job search efforts, including the new ability to describe their desired job rather than using a keyword to display relevant matches. VOS Sapphire AI+ also offers enhanced job cards with functionality that promotes user engagement, including card shuffle animation and a customizable layout.

For employers, VOS Sapphire AI+ offers a simplified job order creation process with a step-by-step guide that helps them quickly post jobs and make them visible to potential candidates. New candidate match cards are also available to assist employers with analyzing summary information about job seekers who are a good fit for a posted job. Additionally, employers can now use AI Assist to describe their ideal candidate in a single input field to access relevant matches, making it easier to pinpoint suitable job seekers.

The release of VOS Sapphire AI+ reflects Geographic Solutions' commitment to continuous evolution, providing its users with cutting-edge tools that leverage modern technology, improve service delivery, and drive better employment outcomes for all users.

They also include the Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP) through which nearly 150 Louisiana employers were approved for more than $18.8 million in IWTP contracts in Fiscal Year 2017-2018. IWTP helped retain more than 24,000 employees and created more than 1,580 jobs, and contributed to an average 7.8 percent wage increase for participants, the LWC reported.

Another free program is the Small Business Employee Training (SBET) for employers with 50 or fewer employees. “Last fiscal year, the LWC approved 1,558 SBET awards, totaling more than $3.7 million in SBET contracts, allowing more than 7,300 existing employees to be trained,” the commission stated.

Similar to other states, Louisiana takes issue with the WalletHub ranking, pointing out that the top-ranked states like Washington and Colorado have high minimum wages of $11.50 and $10.20, respectively. This is hard to compare to a state like Louisiana, which does not have a minimum wage, despite several legislative attempts to establish one.

An LWC spokesperson said, “It’s clear that the rankings are focused predominantly on job quality (satisfaction, benefits, non-discrimination, disability-friendliness, commuting, etc.) and less so on labor market performance (employment growth, unemployment rate, etc.). All Louisiana employers and business organizations are responsible in helping the state move these indicators in the right direction. It’s also important to note that LWC programs are targeting some of these job quality issues that have historically received little attention, like the inclusiveness of disables persons in the workplace.”

LWC states on its website that unemployment insurance claims are less this month than they were at the same time last year. Claims ending the week of Aug 11, 2018, dropped to 2,111 from the previous week’s total of 2,204; by comparison, during the week ending Aug 12, 2017, 2,725 initial claims were filed.

The LWC website also has information for job seekers and benefits recipients on how to avoid scams, as well as free subscription to several email lists.

The report highlights job placement achievements to allow regional workforce boards and other workforce system partners to identify and replicate best practices and strategies to better assist job seekers in gaining employment.

Some of the factors in their ranking include; the number of job seekers who gain employment after being assisted by the Career Center or through the Employ Florida Marketplace job-matching website at EmployFlorida.com; the number of available job openings in their region based on EmployFlorida.com data; and the number of people receiving unemployment compensation benefits who find employment after receiving workforce services.

Through these innovative tools, we are able to evaluate how timely workforce professionals in the Career Centers match qualified job candidates with businesses seeking to hire, and determine the level of consistency of how job seekers utilize the services available to them at no-cost, said, Rick Beasley, executive director for South Florida Workforce Investment Board.

The new Santa Barbara Virtual OneStop will be a state-of-the-art website that provides universal access to online services for individuals seeking jobs and employers seeking employees.

In California, Geographic Solutions currently provides Workforce Investment Act (WIA) case management systems to 12 local workforce boards. These systems all interface with the California Job Training Automation (JTA) system. The Virtual OneStop systems contain comprehensive forms used for WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker eligibility. These forms match the California Employment Development Department/JTA WIA forms. In fact, all of the data entry rules in JTA are mirrored in Virtual OneStop, preventing inaccurate or duplicate data entry.

Built using Version 10.05 of Geographic Solutions' Virtual OneStop software, the system will provide users with a wide array of employment-related services. Job seekers will be able to search for available jobs in the State of California using a search engine that 'spiders' jobs from company and government websites, newspaper postings and corporate job boards. Job searches can be conducted for a radius of a zip code, by city or county, by metropolitan or workforce area, or on a statewide basis. Job seekers will be able to search for training opportunities within the system and employers can have access to recent training graduates. Employers can search for talent and rank the candidates using the automated system. All of the services provided are available at no charge to Job seekers and employers.

Santa Barbara's Virtual OneStop will provide staff with the most cutting-edge job matching and referral system. All services provided to employers or job seekers, whether self-service or staff-assisted, will be accounted for and used to improve agency performance and regional economic growth initiatives. To help with service tracking, Virtual OneStop will include a scan card module (VOScan) that provides automated tracking of services and events. Through the use of scan card readers, data is transferred to the centralized database in real time, via the Internet. Case Managers can also enter and track individuals' financial aid, budgeting, employment plans, training attendance and WIA case management.

Virtual OneStop will provide Labor Market Information and skill requirements for the job listed. Job seekers can develop resumes and cover letters and then submit them directly to the employer online. Job seekers will now be able to search for 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act initiatives such as Green Jobs, Veteran-Preferred jobs, Summer Youth, etc. Version 10.05 will manage innovative employment programs such as unemployment insurance, welfare transition and aid in monitoring economic growth initiatives for Santa Barbara.

Geographic Solutions, Inc. recently partnered with Great Job!, an UI online resource center from the company Business Access. The online community is designed to reduce the time that an individual receives UI benefits. It serves as a social network and information portal to people on unemployment. The purpose of the site is to make resources available to dislocated workers that need to retool, readjust and/or reinvigorate their job search.

Dislocated workers can utilize the employment activity aggregator which includes an automated job search web crawler and tracking function, maintained by Geographic Solutions' VOSJobs workforce solution. This mechanism allows UI job seekers alternative employment options such as job sharing, telecommuting, freelancing, contracting, direct sales, entrepreneurial and networking opportunities. Job seekers can also utilize skill-transferability tools, social networking and UI peer support.

The community is built upon mind-set coaching, goal setting and accountability set forth by Stephen R. Covey of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Dr. Covey's New Work, GREAT LIFE program will teach job seekers how to stand out by identifying their passions and becoming a solution for prospective employers.

As reported by WorkSource for Dallas County, a program that has served over 3,000 achievers, 90% of achievers met job retention requirements and 84% are no longer receiving TANF. These figures highlight the program's ability to not only provide skills for entry-level employment, but also to foster promotions and upward career ladder movement because WorkSource's program required achievers to be working before entering the program. The communities have also increased high school equivalency degree completion, increased college enrollment rates and increased computer literacy rates.

Populations served through the online community include welfare recipients, at-risk youth, rural areas, offenders, military spouses, incumbent workers and people in emergency situations such as natural disasters. Program participants have spent more than 1,043,509 hours online and taken 117,325 courses through Business Access' online learning communities.
