PALM HARBOR, FL – (June 20, 2011) – As of May 4, 2011, job seekers and employers were provided with an even more enhanced tool to assist them in finding suitable jobs, locating training opportunities and identifying skilled candidates. The upgraded HireNet Hawaii website provides universal access to online services for individuals seeking jobs and employers seeking employees, free of charge from anywhere that has internet access. The site can be access by visiting www.HireNetHawaii.com. The launched site is based on Geographic Solutions’ Virtual OneStop® Version 11.1 which features the integration of Labor Market Information and a Green Job module.
Version 11.1 will provide users with a wide array of employment-related services. Job seekers will be able to search for jobs using a search engine that aggregates jobs from company and government websites, newspaper postings and corporate job boards. They will also be able to create and post their resumes online, assess their skills, gain career information, review the latest labor market data, locate suitable training, and much more. Job searches can now be conducted for a radius of a zip code, by city or county, by metropolitan or workforce area, or on a statewide basis. Users now have the option to search and display employers and jobs within a specified area, which are considered Green occupations or green employers.
Employers can have access to recent training graduates and can search for talent and rank the candidates using the automated system. All of the services provided are available at no charge to Job seekers and employers.
Version 11.1 will provide staff with the most cutting-edge job matching and referral system. All services provided to employers or job seekers, whether self-service or staff-assisted, will be accounted for and used to improve agency performance and regional economic growth initiatives. Case Managers can also enter and track individuals’ financial aid, budgeting, employment plans, training attendance and WIA case management.
Virtual OneStop® will provide Labor Market Information and skill requirements for the job listed. Job seekers can develop resumes and cover letters and then submit them directly to the employer online. Job seekers will now be able to search for initiatives such as Green Jobs, Veteran-preferred jobs, and Summer Youth. Version 11.1 was also configured to integrate with UI benefits functionality. Geographic Solutions Unemployment System (GUS) manages innovative employment programs such as unemployment insurance, welfare transition and aid in monitoring economic growth initiatives.
