Hurricane Irma Recovery Jobs Portal: Helping Floridians Rebuild
In September, Florida took an extremely hard hit from Hurricane Irma, sustaining considerable damage from Key West to Jacksonville. In an effort to help with the rebuilding process, Geographic Solutions partnered with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity to develop and launch the Hurricane Irma Recovery Jobs Portal. The portal provides direct links to recovery and cleanup jobs across the state. Florida's Governor, Rick Scott, weighed in through a press release, citing the portal's ease of use and encouraging families and business owners to take advantage of the relief website. The portal also gives visitors access to résumé creation tools, Disaster Unemployment Assistance applications, and education and training resources.
