Press releases from Geographic Solutions and news about our clients' sites

Utah's Department of Workforce Services (DWS) selected Geographic Solutions' VOSJobs job spidering technology to provide job seekers with thousands of jobs to choose from, within one state website.

The software, based on Geographic Solutions' VOSJobs, is a component of its Virtual OneStop Operating System. The VOSJobs system is an Internet-based search engine that users a focused "spider" technology to integrate jobs from Utah corporate sites, job boards, hospitals, government sites and community job boards. Utah job seekers will search the robust database of jobs from DWS's jobs.utah.gov website.

VOSJobs' advanced technology will allow Utah's jobs seekers to quickly zero in jobs that are the best match for the job seekers' requirements. The user-friendly interface offers the most extensive search criteria available. Job seekers can search various aspects of jobs including location, occupation skills, and job requirements. Each job listing is associated with a specific employer, identifying employers with the most listings in the state. Using logic, the job titles are compared against the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) tables where attempts are made to associate the job title with an O*NET occupation code. The association of an O*NET occupation code and O*NET lay title provide extra advantages to the job seeker searching a specific occupation.
