Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Now Available In Nevada

Nevada's Pandemic Unemployment Assistance portal launched on Saturday, May 16, providing a new way to seek relief for an estimated 83,000 self-employed workers in the state.

The portal, located at www.employnv.gov, is independent of the traditional unemployment insurance website, and provides a streamlined method for residents to file for PUA benefits.

"We are very excited to partner with GeoSol to provide this critical resource to eligible Nevadans," said Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation Director Heather Korbulic in a statement given to the Pahrump Valley Times.

The PUA program is part of the federal CARES Act, and is designed to offer unemployment compensation to those historically unable to qualify for traditional unemployment insurance benefits, including the self employed, 1099 contract workers, and those in the gig economy. Over the last few weeks, our company has successfully implemented PUA portals in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
