Part 2: Second Chance Month: An Interview With Lifeline Inmate Services' CEO and Founder, Robert Forte

Did you know that in the United States, approximately 1 in 3 adults has a criminal record? For nearly 70 million Americans, the barriers associated with breaking the law can limit access to education, jobs, housing, and more.

That's why Second Chance Month is such an important calendar observance. We took this opportunity to interview Lifeline Inmate Services' CEO and Founder, Robert Forte. After connecting with Robert at a meeting of the San Diego Reentry Roundtable, we felt compelled to share his story.

In part one of this series, we discussed his upbringing, time in prison, and reentry initiative contributions post release. In part two, Robert shares his views on recidivism and the obstacles people face when leaving prison. He also offers advice for those returning to society.

"I already had a plan in place, and I knew what my reentry plan was two years before release. I knew what I wanted to do and how I was going to do it. I just needed to make sure that the resources or the support existed when I got out," said Forte.
