Press releases from Geographic Solutions and news about our clients' sites

The Florida Office of Workforce Development and the Pikes Peak Workforce Center in El Paso County, Colorado implemented Geographic Solutions' VOSJobs Version 7.0 in July, to enhance job seeker services and improve employer services.

The VOSJobs software is a component of its Virtual OneStop operating system. The system is an Internet-based search engine that spiders thousands of private and government Web sites, newspaper postings, corporate job boards and community job boards for employment opportunities. The new release introduces a simplified jobs search interface and the ability to search for jobs within a city or by zip code.

The Employ Florida Marketplace was designed to attract a broad range of job seekers to assist employers by providing a pool of talent that possess the skills they need. The service was first introduced in March of 2005 before being upgraded in July, and to date has provided over 122 thousand job referrals and has over 250 thousand job listings. The VOSJobs technology supports the state's initiatives to focus on providing demand driven, employer focused services.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center implemented VOSJobs for its comprehensive job listings, easy navigation, and comprehensive service offering including resume builder and career services. Job seekers can search various aspects of jobs including location, occupation skills, and job requirements. Each job listing is associated with a specific employer, identifying employers with the most listings in the state.
