The Arizona Department of Economic Security and Geographic Solutions have deployed a new Internet-based case management system to track services provided under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. This marks the conclusion of Phase One of the overall project, which upon completion will streamline employment services to citizens by providing advanced technology to share information among a variety of employment related agencies. The system, based on Version 6.0 of Geographic Solutions' Virtual OneStop Operating System (VOS), enables agencies to improve service delivery to citizens of Arizona by streamlining the collection and reporting of required WIA information. VOS functionality includes the ability to produce federally mandated reports and track expenditures associated with WIA funding. Job seekers and employers in Arizona can use VOS to access a variety of employment related services including job searches, resume development, job market information, and candidate searches. The first phase of the project was completed on time and within budget. Phase Two, scheduled for release in July 2004, completes development of Wagner-Peyser labor exchange reporting and conversion of the existing labor exchange data.
