Indiana employers and job seekers have a new tool at their disposal to assist them in job matching. The Indiana Career Connect system is a state of the-art website that provides universal access to online services for individuals seeking jobs and employers seeking employees.
The system, which debuted in June, 2008, was built using Version 9 of Geographic Solutions' Virtual OneStop software solution. Representatives from Geographic Solutions were on hand to provide guidance and assistance to state workforce staff as they began using the system with their customers.
The Indiana Career Connect site provides users with a wide array of employment-related services. Job seekers are able to search for all available jobs in the state using a search engine that "spiders" jobs from company and government websites, newspaper postings, and corporate job boards. Job searches can be conducted within a radius of a zip code, by city or county, by metropolitan or workforce area, or statewide. Employers can search for talent and rank the results using the automated system.
Staff also benefits with the new system. Indiana Career Connect provides staff with the most cutting edge job matching and referral system available on the market today. All services provided to employers or job seekers, whether self service or staff assisted, are recorded in the system and used to improve performance reporting.
The new site provides labor market wage information and skill requirements for the jobs listed. Job seekers are able to develop resumes and submit them to employers online.
